A talented 2YO, Lone Eagle won three of his four starts, culminating with victory in the Gr.3 Zetland Stakes. At three he won the L. Cocked Hat Stakes, beating the subsequent Breeders’ Cup Turf winner Yabir, before running a superb neck second in the Gr.1 Irish Derby with the Racing Post commenting “the first two finished well clear and have been rated as improving, with the second horse matching the best runner-up in this race of the last ten years.” He has also been racing this season for Freddie & Martyn Meade and was placed third in the L. Tapster Stakes.
